The Cottage Grove team and community builder, Key Lime Construction, are excited to announce a new mission to give back to our community as we sell homes. With every new home closing in Cottage Grove, Key Lime Construction will make a donation for a complete bed kit to A Bed 4 Me Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization in Okaloosa County, Florida that provides children from low- to middle-income families, foster homes, group homes, and shelters with their own bed to sleep in each night.
This incredible non-profit organization has recognized this need in families with financial challenges and those displaced and starting over due to domestic struggles. Children have often been found sleeping on floors, sofas, recliners, floor pallets or squeezed into a bed with siblings or parents. Through a referral and introductory visit, A Bed 4 Me qualifies each child then provides a bedding kit at no cost to the families. Each kit includes a twin mattress, bed frame, pillow, sheets, and a comforter. Part of the process includes asking each child what style and colors they like, giving them ownership and excitement for this new gift.
A safe and comfortable place to sleep every night is vitally important for a child’s development, health, academic performance and self-esteem. As we have been so blessed to guide families through the process of buying and selling homes, it is a great privilege to give back to our community and provide a sense of home and security to a child in need.
